Over the summer, Chicago’s Wicker Park became home to “Saved By the Max,” a pop-up diner inspired by the wildly p[popular television series Saved By the Bell. Originally only supposed to stay until the end of the year, it not only looks like the restaurant has extended it’s time in Chicago, but will also hit the road and will pop up nationwide in cities all across the country.
The aesthetics and design of the restaurant were created to emulate “The Max,” a popular hangout for the characters in the show. The food is anything but retro, however, and the menu was created by acclaimed chef Brian Fisher.
Saved By the Max appears to be cast and fan approved, as their waitlist is large and tickets are constantly being sold out. Mario Lopez even stopped by the eatery last September, calling the experience “a trip.”
A list of cities the restaurant will be coming to has not been determined yet.
