At the Dallas-Grand Prairie line, the giant Texas-shaped, Texas flag turf will be removed due to traffic safety concerns. The flag has become an increasingly popular attraction, drawing tourists and citizens alike to the location to take pictures. However, there’s no exit ramp or parking lot, so drivers park illegally on the shoulder and median, creating a potentially hazardous accident and jamming traffic.
The good news is that TxDOT does not want to destroy the flag, rather, move it to a safer, more accessible location. Currently, they are working with the city of Grand Prairie to find a more suitable location.
