Study Shows Men Take Up More Room On Airplanes Than Women

A new study has shown that flight crews, airline employees, and frequent flyers all say men take up more room on airplanes than women do.

The study was conducted by the Wall Street Journal and they found that, “women shrink and curl up in seats to avoid contact with strangers,” while “men spread out and take up leg room — and the arm rest.”

“I think men just feel entitled and don’t notice. They are oblivious,” a frequent flyer said, adding that she’ll resort to kicking if she has too.

Men are also more likely to carry on their luggage, where as women more likely to check their baggage.

It’s not all bad for Women though, the study also finds that women generally receive better treatment by airline crews.
