A Houston woman accidentally donated a pair of shoes that she was hiding her life savings in.

KPRC in Houston is reporting that Richard Lopez, a manager at the Goodwill store in Webster, Texas, discovered the bills stuck inside the shoe as newly donated items were being put on the shelves.

Lopez told KPRC that it was, “quite a large wad of $100 bills.” The wad of $100 bills came out to $3,300 dollars in total.

The money was then set aside for seven days to see if anyone claimed it, and it was by a Galveston woman.

“She was so grateful,” Clarence Cope, a store employee who was present when the woman came to collect the cash, said. “She was crying.”

“We have policies here at Goodwill,” Lopez said. “We want to make sure we’re doing the right thing.”

“We were so happy that we were able to get the money to the right person,” Cope added.
