Man Dresses Like Red Cross Worker To Loot Homes

The New York Daily News is reporting that Alfonso Manzo donned a Red Cross jacket last week on Staten Island, not to lend a helping hand but to steal from the vancant homes left in the evacuation before Hurricane Sandy.

The 49-year-old was finally approached by police after they notice he was casing one home.

They asked to see documentation the verified Manzo’s claims that he was with the Red Cross, when he could not produce them he was arrested. He has been charge with burglary and criminal impersonation of a public servant.

He was also charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance when a search revealed six white pills believed to be methadone in his possession.

This is just one arrest in a long line for Manzo who has been arrested 28 time and served four different stints in prison since 1984.
