Dan and Laura Dotson, the auctioneer couple on A&E’s Storage Wars, fell victim to cyber criminals who stole their financial information last week. The couple almost lost their entire life savings.

Luckily for the Dotsons the hackers made some stupid mistakes.

The Dotsons told TMZ that the hackers remotely broke into their home computer and stole all sorts of critical information, including credit card and bank account numbers.

Luckily the cyber criminals pulled a rookie move by trying to make a lot of purchases all at once. The purchases were red flagged immediately by the credit company’s security team.

The charges were denied, and the Dotsons were able to cancel their cards and change account passwords before any real damage had been done.

The hackers also began to chat over instant message about the heist in progress, while still connected to the Dotsons computer. Laura Dotson took a screen shot and has turned the conversation over to authorities.
