Mel Gibson‘s stepmother has reportedly filed a restraining order against him.

Guess this means he won’t be invited to Thanksgiving dinner this year.

According to TMZ, Teddy Joye Hicks Gibson has filed a restraining order against her famous stepson, saying she fears for her own safety.

In court papers, Hicks claims the actor verbally assaulted her following a disagreement over her husband’s medical treatments.  She says Gibson screamed at her “so close that I could feel his spit hitting my face.”

Hicks also alleges that Gibson and his sister Maura manipulated their 93-year-old father into filing for divorce.  Hicks married Hutton Gibson in 2001.

A judge in California will rule on the case next month.
