A British grandfather’s faith in humanity has been restored after a group of strangers helped retrieve his lost money.
Believe it or not, there are still some honest people in this world.
54-year-old Barry Eastwood had just withdrawn $1500 from a bank in Manchester to pay for his car insurance when he accidentally tripped and fell, dropping the cash.
“I fell flat on my face and looked up and saw all the money in the air flying about because a big gust of wind had taken it. I thought it had definitely gone,” Eastwood told the Manchester Evening News. “I just saw loads of lads jumping up and grabbing the money and I thought, ‘I’ve had it now.’”
Unable to chase after the money because of health problems, Eastwood retreated to his car, defeated. Minutes later, that same group of young men came up to him, returning his cash and asking if he was all right.
Said Eastwood, “They brought it all back. I couldn’t believe it. It was an absolute miracle as far as I’m concerned, just amazing.”
