Metallica Assisting FBI In Search For Murderer

Metallica has taken part in a campaign to help the FBI to catch a man wanted in the death of a  Virginia Tech student who disappeared attending a concert in Charlottesville in October 2009.

20-year-old Moran Harrington’s skeletal remains were discovered three months later in a field about 10 miles from the concert venue.

Billboard is reporting that front-man James Hetfield has filmed a Video where h appeals for any person with information about the case to come forward.

In this video Hetfield says, “Remember, any information – no matter how small you might think it is – could be that crucial piece investigators need to help solve the case.”

Police are offering s $100,000 reward and Metallica have offered and additional $50,000 reward.

The band reacted to that right away. It was a matter of days before James Hetfield was on the phone to Dan [Morgan's father] saying, ‘As a father, I am outraged.’” said the victim’s mother Gil Harringotn.
