A woman recently took the law into her own hands in a rather unusual way.

Carrie King did what she had to do.

According to police, the 34-year-old Galveston woman used a paintball gun to stop a would-be burglar.

When officers arrived at her home, they heard King fire the gun and found the intruder, Elvis Alexander, covered in yellow paint.  He was immediately arrested and charged with burglary of a habitation with intent to commit theft.  His bond was set at $40,000.
