Megadeth were forced to end their set early at the Croatian festival Mealfest earlier this week.

They were forced to flee after lead singer Dave Mustaine was struck pelted with rocks from the crowd.

The metal legends were performing at the event’s main stage on Tuesday (June 5) when Mustiane walked off after a rock struck him in the head.

The stones were thrown in the midst of chants from the crowd demanding that ’80s hair metallers WASP appear after rumors spread that WASP frontman Blackie Lawless had refused to perform at the event following an argument with Mustaine. These rumors remain unconfirmed.

After Megadeth walked off, a spokesman for the band appeared and said, “Guys, Dave’s been hit in the head with a rock. I apologize. He’s been hit in the head.” He was then drowned out by chants for WASP and was also pelted with rocks before fleeing the stage.

Croatian’s really like WASP.

You can see a video of the event below. The rock pelting starts at about 9:20.
