They have sold over 200 million albums worldwide, making them one of music’s most successful groups.
In 1978, the Bee Gees, comprised of brothers Robin, Maurice and Barry Gibb, soared to the top of the charts with the single “Stayin’ Alive.” It spent four weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and is perhaps the trio’s most recognizable song.
“Stayin’ Alive,” along with other such hits as “How Deep Is Your Love” and “Night Fever,” was featured on the soundtrack to the 1977 film Saturday Night Fever. The album sold 15 million copies in the U.S. alone and helped epitomize the disco phenomenon of the late ’70s.
