Today’s Throwback Video of the Day is “Dancing in the Street” from [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Mick Jagger[/lastfm] and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]David Bowie[/lastfm]!
Further proof that white men really can’t dance.
In June 1985, Mick Jagger teamed up with fellow Englishman David Bowie to record an updated version of “Dancing in the Street.” The single, originally a hit in 1964 for [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Martha and the Vandellas[/lastfm], was released in conjunction with the Live Aid concerts, and all proceeds went to charity.
“Dancing in the Street” peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100. It also spent four weeks atop the U.K. Singles chart, becoming Bowie’s last No. 1 hit in his native country.
The music video was directed by David Mallet and filmed at the London Docklands.
