Singer Hospitalized After Head Banging Injury, That So Metal!
Mikael Akerfeldt, the Swedish lead singer of death metal band Opeth, said he had to cancel a Minnesota concert when a head banging accident on the tour bus left him bleeding.
This will be the most metal thing you read today.
The singer was retrieving underwear from his suitcase on a tour bus belonging to fellow metal act Mastodon when he accidentally hit his head, resulting in a gash “open down to the skull bone.”
Akerfeldt was released with eight metal staples in his head.
“So all rumors of me being in a car crash are false. I did crash my head into a car though, well…a bus really. Sorry,” Akerfeldt said. “Wish the story was more rock and roll, believe me.”
Okay so maybe it wasn’t head banging, but he did bang his head. Close enough.
