Rock music lovers and gamers can now combine their two passions with Harmonix’s Rock Band Blitz for Xbox Live Arcade and PSN.
Reports say that the game is similar to Rock Band Unplugged with multiple control layouts so the player can switch instruments.
Rock Band Blitz will start with twenty-five tracks that range from “Pumped Up Kicks” by Foster the People to “Jessie’s Girl” by Rick Springfield to “Always” by Blink-182.
Players will also have full access to the Rock Band Music Store.
Joystiq reported that Rock Band Blitz will be out in the summer whilst one of the bands, Foster the People, is in the midst of their international tour.
Fresh from a Converse collaboration with A-Trak and Kimbra from “Somebody That I Used To Love” fame, Mark Foster and Foster the People are working with Kimbra on new material and also told NME that they’d have a new album ready to go by 2013.
He also said the next album would be “less digital.”
“Hopefully we’ll have a song or two out by the end of the year,” confessed Foster. “I’d like to get the album done pretty quickly but we’re not going to put something out until its ready. I’d say in 2013 it’ll be out.
“I’d love to make a more analogue record and not so digital but at the same time still modern,” said the Foster the People frontman. “I think it will be an evolution of the sound we’ve created so far.”
