As punishment for an April Fools’ Day prank gone bad, we sent Davey the Intern into the dark, dank depths of the Jack FM Video Vault.

Luckily, he redeemed himself by bringing us this 1984 gem from [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Sammy Hagar[/lastfm].

Before he replaced [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]David Lee Roth[/lastfm] as lead singer of [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Van Halen[/lastfm], Sammy Hagar found success as a solo artist in the early ’80s with such hit albums as Standing Hampton and Three Lock Box.

In 1984, the Red Rocker released his eighth studio album, VOA.  It peaked at No. 32 on the Billboard 200 and sold over a million copies.  The album’s first single, “I Can’t Drive 55,” was a Top 10 hit on the rock charts.

The song’s popular video was filmed on location at the Saugus Speedway in Santa Clarita, California and featured Hagar driving a black Ferrari BB512i while being chased by the California Highway Patrol.

It is Jack’s Throwback Video of the Day.
