Okay guys, before you get too exited it’s the Canadian band [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Barenaked Ladies[/lastfm] not actual ladies that happen to be bare naked, but that shouldn’t stop you from getting excited that they (the band) are making their way through Dallas this July.

In what’s being dubbed as the Last Summer on Earth tour, the Barenaked Ladies and [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Blues Traveler[/lastfm] are hitting up more than 30 arenas and amphitheaters across North America starting starting in early July.

According to rollingstone.com, one of those stops will be right here in Dallas at the Gexa Energy Pavilion on Sunday, July 22nd.

“I love playing outside in the summertime,” says Barenaked Ladies frontman Ed Robertson. “To travel and hang around with a bunch of bands, and get a chance to do some collaboration is part of the magic of a summer tour.”

Performing with the Ladies and the Travelers will be [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Cracker[/lastfm] and [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Big Head Todd and the Monsters[/lastfm].

The Last Summer on Earth tour is ab obvious nod to 2012 being the end of the world.

“I’m a man of science, and therefore put zero stock in all of the disastrous predictions about the year 2012,” Robertson added. “But just in case, I think everybody should come out and see one last great summer concert tour!  It can’t hurt, right? Here’s hoping the Mayans just got tired of chiseling!”

We here at Jack like the way Robertson thinks.
