Rocker [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Lenny Kravitz[/lastfm] will be taking the stage tonight at Grand Prairie’s Verizon Theatre!

And to get you amped for the show, Jack FM is making “It Ain’t Over ’til It’s Over” our Song of the Day!

Our sincere apologies to Mr. Kravitz in advance for flashing him our man-boobs.

The son of actress Roxie Roker and television news producer Sy Kravitz, Lenny Kravitz was destined for fame even before he was born.  Known for such ’90s funk-rock fare as “Let Love Rule,” “Are You Gonna Go My Way,” “Fly Away” andAmerican Woman,” the four-time Grammy winner has sold millions of albums around the globe and is one of the world’s most beloved music acts.

In 1991, Lenny Kravitz found success in the U.S. with the album Mama Said.  Filled with songs detailing the breakup of his marriage to actress Lisa Bonet, Mama Said became Kravitz’s first Top 40 album, peaking at No. 39 on the Billboard 200 and selling over a million copies.  The single “It Ain’t Over ’til It’s Over,” which is Jack’s Song of the Day, was a hit as well.  It went to No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and remains his highest-charting single to date.

Lenny Kravitz’s commercial streak continued for the next two decades with albums like Are You Gonna Go My Way, Circus, 5 and Greatest Hits.  In August 2011, he released Black and White America, his ninth studio album.  It debuted at No. 17 on the Billboard 200 and was an even bigger success in Europe, landing atop the charts in both Germany and Switzerland.  Singles from Black and White America included “Come On Get It,” “Rock Star City Life” and the Adult Pop hit “Stand.”

In addition to his music career, Lenny Kravitz has also delved into the world of acting, appearing in such films as Zoolander and Precious. Beginning March 23, he can be seen as Cinna in the highly-anticipated big-screen adaptation of The Hunger Games.

Here’s the video for Lenny Kravitz’s 2005 hit “Lady.”  Wow, Lenny surrounded by all those beautiful, dancing women.  Reminds Jack FM of our days as a strip club bouncer.
