Food Truck Spotlight: Green House Review
Enjoyed a lovely day in Dallas with Ben Hutchinson at the Green House Food Truck. Green House is a food truck that brings the “Farm to the Table“.
Locally grown ingredients, fresh ingredients, healthy food.
The truck has been around for 3 years. And serves a simple but delicious menu to its customers. You can find Vegetarian, Vegan and Gluten Free options from their menu. Their truck is white with green logo and in its simplistic nature, doesn’t need to be “over-done” like other trucks.
Now to the food.
Chef Ben prepared for us two items to enjoy. First was their Miso Steak Brown Rice Bowl. The flavors were amazing together. I a big lover of veggies and brown rice and this bowl didn‘t disappoint. With edamame, onion, broccoli and carrot mixed with the rice, it was a perfect blend. BUT let me get to the main feature of this bowl, the miso steak!!!! I could have had an entire bowl of this alone and been happy. The miso flavoring along with the perfect seasoning was just extremely good. No other way of putting it. All in all, this dish was yummy to my tummy or Food Baby as I like to call her. Nice portion size too…you can’t go wrong.
[photogallerylink id=89279 align=right]Chef Ben also prepared a Portobello Sandwich with walnut/basil pesto. The pesto is not made with cheese so all you vegitarians out there, try this!!! The bread does have a little milk in it so vegans, not for you but I can say, WOOOOW! Loved the pesto, the flavor on the mushroom, the bread was crips and chewing in the right places. This sandwich was very tasty. I would order it again!
Green House also has salads and homemade soups each day. They use ingredients that are seasonal and bring out amazing flavors! Try this truck’s food. You will love it and it won’t “weigh” you down. I’ll be back again and again.
Save me a table!
