The Honda Civic Tour is celebrating their 10th anniversary this summer and their inaugural headliner blink-182 will be apart of this year’s festivities and oh yeah… one of their stops will be right here in our backyard.
Co-headlining this year with blink-182 will be [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]My Chemical Romance[/lastfm]. Not a shabby duo if we say so ourselves.
The tour kicks off in Holmdel, New Jersey at the PNC Bank Arts Center on August 5.
And yes, they will be making their way to north Texas when they hit up the Gexa Energy Pavilion on September 27.
Opening acts through out the tour will be [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Manchester Orchestra[/lastfm] and [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Rancid[/lastfm], but those two bands will not be apart of the tour when they get to Dallas– Matt & Kim will be the opening act at the tail end of the tour, that includes their Dallas stop.
The tour wraps up on October 15 in San Diego.
According to pollstar.com, the Honda Civic Tour is teaming up with Reverb; a non-profit organization to make it “easy to be green” for concert tours.
The organization was founded by environmentalist Lauren Sullivan and her husband Adam Gardner, who is a member of the band [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Guster[/lastfm].
They will also be working with the Surfrider Foundation to raise awareness regarding environmental issues.
Blink-182 headlined the first half of the inaugural tour back in 2001 ([lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Everclear[/lastfm] headlined the second half).
Blink and My Chemical Romance fan club members will get their first shot at tickets on June 6, with general pre-sale tickets will be available June 10.
For more information on the tour itself and to check out all of their stops, check out the tour’s website.
Here’s some our Blink-182 favorites to keep you preoccupied until they land in TX in late September. Enjoy…
