[lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Eddie Vedder[/lastfm] has some breaking news!  Today he announced he will be releasing a new solo album and DVD this May.  To celebrate we made his first single off the upcoming album, ‘Longing to Belong’, our song of the day!

RollingStone.com is reporting that Eddie Vedder’s second solo album ‘Ukulele Songs’ and a live concert film titled ‘Water on the Road’ will both be released on May 31st!

The album will feature Vedder performing original and covers songs with his ukulele!  You know that small guitar with four strings…

This will be his second solo album and first since his soundtrack for the film Into the Wild that he released back in ’07.

‘Water on the Road’, Vedder’s first solo concert film, was directed by Brendan Canty of [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Fugazi [/lastfm]and Christoph Green at a pair of shows in Washington, D.C. in August of 2008.

Today’s tune, ‘Longing to Belong’, will become available for digital download tomorrow but we thought you could use a sneak peek…Don’t tell the bossman!
