[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]George Clooney[/lastfm] has signed on to co-star in an upcoming Sci-Fi drama called Gravity along with [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Sandra Bullock[/lastfm].
Clooney and Bullock are the sole survivors at a space station after an asteroid shower pulverizes the station and kills everyone else on board. Gravity centers around their struggle to get back to earth.
Interestingly enough, Clooney and Bullock were not the original choices for the lead roles in Gravity. Originally [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Robert Downey Jr.[/lastfm] was set for the lead role but had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Angelina Jolie[/lastfm] was originally going to play Bullock’s character but dropped out due to the film changing production companies from Universal to Warners.
Either way, Gravity sounds like it will be pretty intense. Shooting begins in the Spring of 2011.
