80s Brit synth-pop duo [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Erasure[/lastfm] is hitting the road for their seven-show “Total Pop!” tour this summer. Their stops will be located in “spectacular woodland locations” within the U.K. By the way, they aren’t the only 80′s Brit pop band to hit the woods this summer.
[lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Simple Minds[/lastfm] will also be going the forest route for their “Greatest Hits U.K. Forest Tour.” Their seven stops will begin on June 10th and end on July 3th.
Erasure’s tour will begin on June 10th and wrap up on July 1st.
Erasure front man Andy Bell said, “This wonderful opportunity to perform for the fans in such a unique backdrop feels like just the right way to jump back in to Erasure after a four-year break. We’re excited to be playing in the woods and really hope it doesn’t rain.”

80′s college rock website slicingupeyeballs.com is also reporting that Erasure is releasing a new version of their 1988 hit “A Little Respect” to raise awareness about gay bullying and teen suicides.
The band said, “in the wake of all the gay bullying and related suicides” in the U.S. recently, they “wanted to do something special to spread a message of tolerance” and raise money to combat such prejudice.
The track was digitally released today in the U.K. and will hit our digital shelves in the U.S. tomorrow. The duo (Bell and Vince Clarke) plan on releasing a new album this coming summer around the time of the tour.
If you can’t wait that long and you’re just not an “outdoorsy” kinda fan, we’ll just hook you up with a couple of our Erasure favorites. Enjoy…
