[lastfm]Prince[/lastfm] is hitting the road and could be in a town near you in the near future, but before we know where he’ll be heading, we need to know where his “Welcome 2 America” tour will begin.
According to rollingstone.com, Prince will open his tour for a three-night stand in East Rutherford, New Jersey at the IZOD Center on December 14th, 15th, and 17th.
He will then jump across the Hudson River for a December 19th show at NY’s Madison Square Garden.
There could also be a string of after-show concerts at Harlem’s famed Apollo Theatre.
This will be Prince’s first extensive U.S. concert tour since 2004. He did headline Coachella in 2008.
Joining Prince on tour includes such names as Maceo Parker, Cassandra Wilson, Janelle Monae, Sheila E., Mint Condition, Esperanza Spalding, Sinbad, and the New Power Generation.
Keep an hear to Jack FM to see if the Purple Rain maker heads down to our neck of the woods or you can check up on him at prince.org. If you didn’t believe a word I just said, just hear it from the man himself…
