How do you walk away from 3.7 million fans?
[lastfm]John Mayer[/lastfm] did.
Why did he delete his Twitter account?
John Mayer has had enough with Twitter and has deleted his account.
A spokeswoman for Mayer says he has discontinued his Twitter account with his Battle Studies Tour “now at a close and a return to the studio planned.”
Mayer had more than 3.7 million followers on the social networking website. [pullquote quote="Time to (try to) disappear for a while. Love you guys. A lot."]
He used the account to invite University of South Carolina fans to see a free show in February before the start of the tour to promote his album “Battle Studies.”
An e-mailed statement says Mayer continues to communicate with fans through his blog, where the singer/songwriter wrote Sunday, “Time to (try to) disappear for a while. Love you guys. A lot.”
Well, at least he is still communicating with his fans and not abandoning them.
